Frontiers in Redox Biology and Medicine (FiRBaM)
5th Young Professionals Workshop on Plasma Medicine
November 28 to December 01, 2016 in Rostock, Germany
The Frontiers in Redox Biology and Medicine meeting (5th Young Professionals Workshop on Plasma Medicine) will be taking place in November 2016. You are cordially invited to submit and present your work to make the workshop once again a great success! Expect fruitful discussions with peers in your field and neighboring topics which leave you inspired and positively motivated.
Two major topics will be embedded into 2.5 exciting days. With the focus on challenges in medicine, the biological response of immune and cancer cells and tissues following exposure to exogenous oxidants and/or cold physical plasma will be a central topic to delineate their redox-related therapeutic potential in cancer therapy and immunology. Second, the molecular pathways in redox signaling will be emphasized, especially regarding redox switches and thiol chemistry.
We are honored to announce PD. Dr. rer nat. Christopher-Horst Lillig as the chairmen of this meeting. He is principal investigator at the University Medicine of Greifswald, highly distinguished and recognized in the field of redox biology and chemistry, having authored over 83 articles in this field with many of them published in high-impact journals such as "Antioxidants and Redox Signaling".
Participation at this international workshop is intended for young scientists such as early-career postdocs (experience up to 5 years) and PhD students. Save the date! The meeting will be held from 28th of November to 01st of December 2016 in Rostock, Germany. The exact address of the venue will be announced end of June.
